Are you looking for beautiful flowers during these cold winter months? We are too, and after some research on our part we found some magnificent flowers for February. One of our favorites is the Lillium Stargazer as well as the Lillium Casablanca! These are both beautiful flowers and can surely brighten a gloomy winter day.
Another favorite of ours are Alstroemeria which can be found in pink, orange and yellow; all which Fleurenasci can turn into beautiful jewelry. Delphimium, Gerbera and Hydrangea are also flowers that can be used in home floral arrangements. These are only a few of our favorites. What are some of yours? That’s right … Girl Scout Cookies! Who doesn’t love them? In the midst of creating fabulous pieces for Fleurenasci, even we need a snack break. What could be better than a Tagalong and a big glass of milk? Well how about three new flavors of cookies? Yes, on Monday the Girl Scouts of America announced the addition of Toffee-Tastic, Trios and Rah Rah Raisins. These new flavors will be available when the Girl Scouts begin selling the cookies this month. Another first for the organization will be the ability of cookie lovers all over the US to order their favorite cookies online.
According to the CNN article, approximately 1.5 million Girl Scouts sell 200 million boxes of cookies each year during the selling season, which begins in January, according to Anna Maria Chavez, the CEO of Girl Scouts of the USA. This year marks the organization’s 98th year of cookie sales.
So remember to support your local Girl Scout troop and order those cookies!

We all enjoy looking out our windows and seeing beautiful flowers, but did you know that gardening those gorgeous blooms can actually help to relieve stress in your life. The sunlight alone is good for the soul, not to mention getting in touch with nature. In a recent about.com post the article described the many benefits of gardening for your body, spirit and mind.
The article explained that sunlight “provides an influx of vitamin D, and the fresh air that that goes with it is good for your health.” Gardening is simply a great excuse to get out and enjoy these fantastic health opportunities. Gardening is also good for the soul because it allows us to get out and enjoy nature. We all spend so much time at work, looking at a computer, and posting on social media, that we forget how wonderful it is to be outside. Gardening give this opportunity back to us.

It’s hard to believe it’s been one year since the bombing at the Boston Marathon. Today, as runners cross the finish line and emergency responders stand on alert, we at Fleurenasci remember those who died and were injured in the tragedy. It is said there will be more police officers on duty than in the history of the race. Many victims from 2013 are on-hand today not only to run the race, but to also offer support and cheers on this year’s participants. For all of those we say congratulations and thank you. Together we will all stay Boston Strong.

Despite snow, ice, and freezing rain, they say Spring is in the air … well at least in the pollen count. According to an article at 11Alive.com, the warm weather snap is causing a high pollen count for February. The article stated pollen counts rarely rise above 100 in February, but last Friday we hit a count of 255! Experts blame this on the trees blooming after the temperatures soared when the ice melted.
Dr. Stanley Fineman of the Atlanta Allergy and Asthma Clinic said the ice and snow actually provided perfect conditions for the trees. “They are well hydrated and they’ve got their water on board, and when trees are well hydrated, they thrive, so they are probably going to release more pollen,” he said.
So if spring allergies get you down, grab a box of Kleenex as this could be a long next few weeks for you!
What a crazy winter it has been across the United States. One week it’s snowing in Georgia, and the next week it’s 71 degrees. Madness! At Fleurenasci we say, “bring on spring!” Why? Well definitely for warmer temperatures, but also for those beautiful spring flowers.
On a recent search for spring flowers I came across a site which listed 10 unusual flowers for spring. There were so many! A few of my favorites included the Pasque flower, the Oriental Poppy and Trilliums. These flowers are full of vibrant colors and exude the feeling of spring and renewal. Of course my mind sees beautifully colored beads, but you all might want to take a look for new flowers for your garden. They are all quite beautiful.
And remember Fleurenasci when it’s time to cut back those daffodils and tulips. Keep spring alive all year through with a beautiful spring flower keepsake.

As the temperatures begin to cool, many of our favorite summer flowers will begin to drift away. Why not capture the vibrant color of summertime favorites through a Fleurenasci keepsake? Each month we receive calls from customers who want to know if they can bring in fresh flowers from their yards, their mom’s yard or maybe even the neighbor’s yard! (Shhh – we promise we won’t tell!) These ideas are great and the flowers make beautiful beads for our jewelry line.
A few of our favorites include Asters, Daisies, Dahlias and Coneflowers. Their rich colors make beautiful keepsakes and you get the pleasure of keeping summer with you all year round, without the rain!
So why not go clip those flowers from the yard and then call us to schedule an appointment. Not pleased with the selection in your yard? Call us to see what flowers we have on site.

Violets. What a beautiful flower, and it’s my flower of the day. I chose this flower for many reasons, one being its essence of humbleness. You see I have the pleasure of owning a new company, actually a new concept really. I bring the Essence of Flowers to Life through jewelry and keepsakes. Recently, I have been humbled by two customers who chose to share a personal story with me. You see they were at an event, one a wedding and the other a funeral. Both were admiring the beautiful flowers. While sitting at their respective events, they BOTH thought of me, and my business. The idea that Fleurenasci comes to mind when the eye sees the flower, WOW; I am humbled by that thought!
You know, I honestly stumbled upon the essence of flowers while researching toward my company name which in turn led me to use, Fleurenasci, meaning flowers renewed. What a fantastic discovery….. What a journey….. and I truly love the path it has taken me down. I so look forward to sharing it each and every day. Since starting this venture I no longer am able to look at a flower in the same way. I see how the colors will blend into a bead or bezel. I see a way to convey their essence to honor Mother Nature for all her splendor. I look at jewelry differently as well. I find myself searching for deeper meaning.
What do you think of when you see a flower? What does your color, or your accessories convey? What does your jewelry convey about you? What do you want it to convey? Do you put on the earrings because they are the right color or because they make a statement about you? Think about that the next time you are putting on those earrings and if you find that you are missing that very special piece… I hope you too will think, Fleurenasci!
