Which flower will you choose?

The end of summer is upon us. Vacations have been taken. The kids are heading back to school. As you work to organize your photos and memorabilia into photo albums might we suggest another way to remember those carefree summer days, the afternoons spent at Grandma’s house, family gatherings, or time spent taking in the wonders of mother nature…

Why not hold onto those memories through flowers? That’s right you can revisit those cherished moments everyday with jewelry and keepsake items created using your preserved flowers. At Fleurenasci, we take Grandma’s prize roses or Mom’s favorite flower and preserve them, crush them, and hand-roll them into beads. Those beads are then incorporated into jewelry and keepsake items allowing you to celebrate your loved ones everyday!

Not ready to think about Christmas gifts just yet. No worries! You can bring us your flowers now while they are vibrant and blooming. We are happy to preserve and store them for you for up to six months. The small non-refundable deposit will be applied toward your future creations.

Schedule an appointment to drop off your flowers or mail them using our mailing instruction and enclosure form to start the process. We’ll be happy to hear from you!

Preserve your memories, create unique jewelry and keepsake items, and celebrate your loved ones everyday.

A Weekend of Introductions

The weather was definitely frightful the weekend before the Georgia Funeral Directors Association Conference, but that was not stopping me from attending this year’s meeting. And what a great experience it was meeting directors from all over the state and introducing them to Fleurenasci. New to this group, I could not have been more warmly welcomed, especially from Valerie Wages of Tom M. Wages Funeral Service, LLC. Valerie introduced me to many attendees and made sure everyone knew about Fleurenasci. She made this business owner feel as if I had been a part of the group for years.

During the weekend I was able to share how our gifts become keepsakes and life celebration mementos for those who have lost a loved one. The attendees were quite impressed with the products they saw and agreed this is a wonderful way to keep loved ones close to our hearts. I was grateful for their warm reception and interest in my company. If you know me well, this was an event that took me out of my comfort level, but I am so pleased I made the decision to participate as a vendor. I look forward to working with many of these great companies in the near future and appreciate their interest in Fleurenasci.

Memorial Day ~ A Day of Gratitude

1779780_10151847976217396_2008031739_n Memorial Day, a day set aside to remember and honor our fallen soldiers, their families, and loved ones.

As the founder of Fleurenasci, I have the pleasure of celebrating the essence of life through the essence of flowers, and many times a customer’s creation originates with flowers sent to celebrate the life of a loved one. As I began my day today I must admit my focus was on the upcoming extended weekend. However, in grinding through some administrative tasks necessary before enjoying the weekend I found my thoughts progressing toward the essence of Memorial Day.

Having grown up an Air Force brat, I remember well my father being absent for extended periods of time. A year served in Thailand was the longest absence I recall. I was one of the fortunate ones though in that my father returned from each and ever mission he served, and we honor his service and many other ancestors who served on Veterans Day. Memorial Day, however, is a day to stop and remember those who will not be returning to their families and loved ones. It is a day to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. As is true for so many of you, my sweet niece, Erin Stalnaker, and her family have known this loss. The sacrifice made by her brother, U.S. Marine Corp, LCPL Noah M. Pier, who gave his all for his country on Feb. 16, 2010 is a loss shared within her family each and every day. My heart reaches out to them many days, but this weekend especially as we pause to remember…

This holiday, Memorial Day, was formerly known as Decorations Day and originated to commemorate the soldiers who died in the Civil War. Many volunteers continue to honor our soldiers today by placing an American flag on each grave in the national cemeteries. I would like to take a moment to thank these volunteers for their time and efforts but most importantly for helping us to remember what this weekend specifically Monday is truly all about, honoring those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. I would also like to take a moment to thank and honor the families and loved ones whose support made their soldier’s service possible.

Whether your weekend plans include a backyard barbecue or you are kicking off your summer with an annual vacation, please pause and pay tribute to our fallen soldiers. And while you cannot tell them thank you directly, you can take a moment to thank their families and loved ones. Share a kind word of gratitude, give a loving hug or simply bow your head and say a silent prayer of comfort for all those whose loved ones are not returning and are most certainly missed so dearly!

Thank you Erin! And thank you to your family for your support of Noah as he chose to serve his country. You are in my heart, my thoughts and my prayers….

A Month of Memories

What a month May has been, not only professionally but also personally. During this month I was blessed with an overflow of orders at Fleurenasci. What a wonderful problem to have to face. I truly hope the gifts I created will be treasured by moms and graduates for many years to come. In the midst of the work chaos, I also saw my son graduate from the University of Georgia. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Cognitive Science and a Bachelor’s Degree in Music! He will now roll right into graduate studies in Educational Psychology at UGA. Words cannot express how proud I am of him and my daughter who will also be continuing her college career at UGA. Here is a photo of me and the two most important people in my life! Have a wonderful weekend from your friends at Fleurenasci!

Living Life Like A Chinese Bamboo Tree

You may have read this title and thought, “what is Phyllis thinking?” Well give me a moment and I will explain my thought process. Yes, I actually am growing my personal life and my business, Fleurenasci, like that of a Chinese Bamboo Tree. I will share the link that truly explains what I mean, but in a nutshell, it’s when you create a strong foundation before you truly begin to grow.

When one plants a bamboo tree, it does not sprout until its fifth year of growth. Now we all know the bamboo was not just sitting there for four years doing nothing. It was actually developing a root system strong enough to support the mighty bamboo it would become. This is how I intend on growing my personal and professional life. With a strong foundation, I can succeed at anything I set my mind too. I find the more I read about this process, the more I can use the same principles in my day-to-day life. And one key element to the bamboo’s success and mine is faith. The growers of the bamboo do what is required to make the bamboo grow and the rest is left up to faith. Each day I strive to do what I know must be done to lead a successful personal and professional life, while the rest is left up to faith. How awesome is that? I hope you will take a moment to learn more about the story here. It truly is a tale we can all learn from.

Spring in the Air?

Despite snow, ice, and freezing rain, they say Spring is in the air … well at least in the pollen count. According to an article at 11Alive.com, the warm weather snap is causing a high pollen count for February. The article stated pollen counts rarely rise above 100 in February, but last Friday we hit a count of 255! Experts blame this on the trees blooming after the temperatures soared when the ice melted.
Dr. Stanley Fineman of the Atlanta Allergy and Asthma Clinic said the ice and snow actually provided perfect conditions for the trees. “They are well hydrated and they’ve got their water on board, and when trees are well hydrated, they thrive, so they are probably going to release more pollen,” he said.
So if spring allergies get you down, grab a box of Kleenex as this could be a long next few weeks for you!
